Kerala uluva kanji recipe Malayalam | Karkkidaka kanji

Ingredients 

  • Fenugreek seeds: 50g
  • Navara rice; 250g
  • grated coconut; 100g
  • shallots; 50g
  • cumin seeds: 1 tsp.
  • Ghee: 2 to 3 tsp.

Method

  • Today we’re going to make uluva kanji.
  • For that, first wash the fenugreek seeds and then keep them in water for some time.
  • Then wash the rice and keep it aside.
    Transfer fenugreek seeds and rice to a pot with water and keep it on the stove.
  • Let it boil. By that time, grate the coconut.
  • Then take the shallots and cumin seeds and then grind them in a grinding stone and transfer them to a bowl.
  • Then add this grinded coconut to the boiled rice and fenugreek mixture along with some water and mix it, and remove from the fire.
  • Then slice shallots.
  • Then heat ghee in a pan and add sliced shallots to it and sauté well.
  • Then remove from fire and add it to the fenugreek kanji and mix it.
  • Uluva Kanji is ready to be served.
