Kerala style brown chickpea roast
Ingredients
Chickpea -1 kg
Pearl onion-6 to 7 in nos
Shallot-2 nos
Coconut pieces-1/2 piece
Ginger-1 medium
Garlic-6 or 7 petals
Green chilli-3 or 4
Red chilli powder-1 tbsp
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Garam masala -1 tsp
Black pepper powder-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Mustard seed-1 tsp
Curry leaves-2 sprig
Oil-4 to 5 tbsp
Method
* First we wash and clean the chickpea
* Take a heavy pan with water and chickpea ,and cook well for15 to 20 minutes
8 Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start spluttering add
coconut slices and sauted for some minutes
* Then we add pearl onion, shallots, ginger ,garlic and green chilli ,and sauted
for some minutes
* Again we add powders like red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala
,black pepper powder ,turmeric powder and salt ,sauted for some minutes
* At last we add cooked brown chickpea and mix well ,sauted for some minutes
* Turn off the flame and enjoy the kerala style brown chickpea roast.
