Chinese potato-chicken curry recipe or Koorka chicken curry

Ingredients

  • Chinese potato : 250 g
  • Onion: 6 nos
  • Garlic : 10 to 12 nos
  • Tomatoes : 3 nos
  • Ginger : 1 nos
  • Oil : 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt : 3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder: 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder : 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder : 1 tsp
  • Fennel seed powder : 1 tsp
  • Chicken: 1 kg
  • Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp
  • Dried red chilli : 2 nos
  • Shallots. : 5 to 6 nos
  • Chicken masala : 2 tsp

Method

  • Today we are going to make Chinese potato chicken curry or Koorkka chicken curry.
  • For that, first peel the Chinese potato, wash it, chop the potatoes, and then keep it aside.
  • Then peel onions, shallots, ginger, and garlic.
  • Then wash it and keep it aside.
  • Now chop the onion, shallots, and tomatoes.
  • Then make ginger and garlic paste in a grinding stone and keep it aside.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves and the ginger and garlic paste.
  • Saute it.
  • Then add sliced shallots and onions and saute them.
  • Add salt to it and stir again.
  • Then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, and fennel seed powder, stir it, and add tomato and saute it again.
  • Then add chopped Chinese potato along with chicken.
  • Then add chicken masala, mix it well, add water, and mix again by closing the pan.
  • Check whether the chicken is cooked or not.
  • If the chicken is cooked, remove the pan from the fire.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, dry red chili, shallots, and curry leaves, then saute it well and remove the pan from the fire.
  • Then add this to the chicken curry.
  • Chinese potato chicken curry is ready to be served.
