Ayurvedic rice porridge Kerala /special karkidaka kanji

Ingredients

  • Kurunthotti.
  • Odiyavanakk Thakara
  • Thottavadi/Padayinja
  • Kallurukki.
  • Poovamkurunthal
  • Kodakal
  • Varambel koduveli
  • Parppadaka pullu
  • Cheru karukappullu.
  • Keezarnelli
  • Thumba.
  • Nila pulladi
  • Kodalkilikki
  • Muyal cheviyan
  • Valliyuzinja
  • Mukkutti
  • Koonjilikka
  • Rice: 1/2 kg;
  • grated coconut: 100g
  • Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
  • Collect whole plants of each with root

Method

  • Today we’re going to make karkkidaka kanji.
  • For that, first collect all the medicinal plants from the neighborhood.
  • Now cut the roots of plants with soil.
  • Then wash all the plants thoroughly 2 or 3 times with hands till all the soil is gone.
  • Now wash the roots that separated from the plants.
  • Remove the soil and dirt after washing , with a knife.
  • Now smash all the plants with mortar and pestle.
  • Then squeeze the smashed plants and collect their juice in a bowl.
  • Then strain it through a cloth.
  • Then wash the rice twice with water, add it to the ayurvedic plant juice, and keep it in the stove.
  • Then grate the coconut and squeeze it and collect coconut milk out of it.
  • Then stir the rice mix.
  • Then add crushed cumin seeds.
  • Then add coconut milk to it, stir it, and remove from the fire.
  • Then transfer it to a bowl and serve.
  • Ayurvedic rice porridge/kkarkkidaka kanji is ready.
