Ingredients
- Papaya – 1 nos
- Onion – 3 nos
- Shallots – 7 to 8 nos
- Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
- Green chilli – 2 to 3 nos
- Curry leaves – 2 to 3 sprigs
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Tamarind – small ball
- Cumin seed – 1 tsp
- Dry red chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 3to 4 tbsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to peel the papaya.
- Then cut it in half and remove the seeds.
- Then chop the papaya into small cubes and set aside.
- Then chop the onion and set it aside.
- Then chop the green chilli and set it aside.
- Take a pot, add chopped papaya, green chilli and onion.
- Add chopped tomatoes and curry leaves.
- Then add turmeric powder and set aside.
- Take a bowl, add tamarind and water, squeeze them well.
- Pour the tamarind water into the papaya curry pan.
- Pour a sufficient amount of water and salt ,mix them well.
- Place the pan on the heat and stir them well.
- Cover and cook them well.
- Grind grated coconut and red chilli powder.
- Again, add shallots, garlic and cumin seed.
- grind them well to make a coarse paste and set aside.
- Remove the lid from the cooking pan and mix them.
- Add the coarse mixture of grated coconut and combine them well.
- Pour in a sufficient amount of water and thoroughly mix.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seed and let them sputter.
- Add dry red chillies,shallots and curry leaves, saute and fry them well.
- Remove from fire and pour the fried mixture in a papaya curry pan.
- Combine them well.
- Serve the tasty papaya curry with meals.
