Ingredients
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Shallots – 20 to 24 nos
- Garlic – 12 to 13 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Curry leaves – 2 to 3 sprigs
- Pepper seed – 1 tsp
- Coconut pieces – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbp
- Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 5 to 6 tbsp
Method
- Today we have to prepare chicken Roast.
- Firstly, we have to peel the shallots and set them aside.
- Peel the garlic and set it aside.
- Then peel the ginger and set it aside.
- Then wash the peeled shallots, ginger,ginger and garlic and set them aside.
- chop the shallots and set aside.
- Then cut the coconut pieces from the shell and keep them aside.
- Then chopped into thin slices and set aside.
- Now we have to crush the shallots.
- Again, add ginger and garlic and crush them well.
- Then add pepper seed and curry leaves, crush them well, and set aside.
- Take a pan, add chicken pieces and grinded shallots and mix the paste.
- Then add powders like turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chilli powder.
- Add some salt and chopped coconut pieces.
- Combine them well and marinate for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seed and let them splutter.
- Then add curry leaves and shallots.
- Saute them well for a few minutes.
- Then add the marinated chicken pieces and combine them well.
- Cover them and cook them well.
- Remove the lid and stir them well.
- Add some garam masala and crushed dry red chillies.
- Combine and cook for a few minutes.
- Once the chicken is well cooked, remove it from the fire and set it aside.
- Serve the tasty chicken perattu with appam.
