Ingredients
- Papaya – 2 medium nos
- Ginger – 2 nos
- Garlic – 8 to 9 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Vinegar – 2 tbsp
- Dry red chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to peel the papaya and set it aside.
- Then cut it in half and remove the seeds.
- Wash the papaya pieces and set aside.
- Then chop the papaya and set it aside.
- Crush the ginger and garlic and keep them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add dry red chilli and crushed garlic ginger paste.
- Saute them well for a few minutes.
- Then add curry leaves and sauté them well.
- Then add red chilli powder and saute them well.
- Then add the chopped papaya and saute them well.
- Add salt and vinegar ,saute them well.
- Then cover with a lid and cook for a few minutes.
- Remove the lid and sauté them well.
- Once the papaya is ready, remove it from the fire and keep it aside.
- Once the papaya pickle is cooled, store it in glass bottles.
