Ingredients
- Beef 1 kg
- Garlic – 15 to 20
- Ginger. – 1 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Dry red chill – 2 to 3 nos
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Vinegar – 2 to 3 tbsp
- cinnamon – 1 nos
- cloves- 2 or 3 nos
- fennel seed – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida powder – – 1/2 tbsp
- mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 1/2 ltr
Method
- Then cut the beef into thin, lengthwise pieces.
- Wash the beef, drain and set aside.
- Then grind the cinnamon, cloves and fennel seed into a fine paste.
- Again, add ginger and garlic to a smooth paste.
- Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and pepper powder
- Grind them whole well to make a smooth paste; set aside.
- Add the grinded masala to the beef pieces.
- Mix the masala with beef pieces.
- Cover and marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add marinated beef pieces.
- Fry them well till the beef becomes light brown and crisp.
- Drain the excess oil from the fried beef and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan, add mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
- Then add dry red chilli, garlic and ginger.
- Saute them well for a few minutes.
- Add curry leaves and saute them well.
- Add some curry powders like red chilli powder, pepper powder, asafoetida powder and salt.
- Saute them well till the raw smell of the curry powders is completely gone.
- Then add the fried beef pieces and mix them well.
- Then pour in the vinegar and mix them well.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Remove from the fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty beef pickle with meals.
