Ingredients:
- Sardine fish – 1kg
- Shallots – 15 to 16 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – 1 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Tamarind – small ball.
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seed – 1 tsp
- Dry red chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Oil – 3 to 4 tbsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to fill a bowl with water.
- Then add tamarind and soak for half an hour.
- Then we have to grind grated coconut, turmeric powder and chilli powder into a course paste and set it aside
- The tamarind was then squeezed, drained, and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add chopped ginger, garlic and shallots.
- Saute them well.
- Then add curry leaves and saute them well.
- Then add grounded coconut mix and combine them well.
- Add drained tamarind water ,mix and boil them well.
- Sprinkle some salt and mix them well.
- Then add cleaned sardine fish and mix them well.
- Add green chilli and mix them well.
- Cover and cook till the fishes become well cooked .
- Remove the lid and check whether the fish is well cooked or not.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add fenugreek seed
- Then add dry red chilli and curry leaves .
- Saute them well
- Add red chilli powder and saute them well.
- Remove from fire and pour the mixture into the curry pan
- Mix them well.
- Serve the tasty fish curry with boiled tapioca.
