Ingredients
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Onion – 4 nos
- Ginger medium size 2 nos
- Garlic – 8 to 9 nos
- Green chilli – 2 to 3 nos
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 2tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Corn flour – 2 tbsp
- Lemon juice – half piece
- Oil – 4 to 5 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
Method
- Take a pan,add the cleaned chicken.
- Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, corn flour powder and salt.
- Then add the squeezed lemon juice and mix them well.
- Marinated for half an hour
- In a bowl, add grated coconut and water.
- Squeeze them well with your hands.
- Drain the thin coconut milk and set it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add marinated chicken pieces.
- Fry them well till they become light golden brown.
- Drain the fried chicken pieces and keep them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add chopped onions and saute them well.
- Add chopped ginger and garlic and saute them well.
- Sprinkle some salt on them and saute them well for a few minutes.
- Add some red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
- Then add some pepper powder and garam masala.
- Saute them well until the raw smell is completely gone.
- Add some green chilli and curry leaves.
- Saute them well.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soft.
- Add fried chicken pieces and saute them well.
- Then add coconut milk and saute them well.
- Cook them well till the masala water completely dries up.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty chicken roast with appam or chapati
