Tasty & Easy Breakfast – Banana Puttu


  • Rice flour -1 1/2 cup
  • Banana -5 nos
  • Grated coconut -1cup
  • Jaggery 1 cup
  • Salt -1 pinch
  • Water – sufficient amount


  • Firstly, we have to grate the jaggery with a knife and keep it aside.
  • Then peel the banana and cut it in half lengthwise, then chop it into thin slices and keep them aside.
  • Now we have to take a plate, grate the coconut, and set it aside.
  • Take a pan, add rice flour and salt, and mix them well.
  • Now we add the little by little amount of water,mix them well, and set them aside.
  • Heat water in a steamer.
  • Then take a steel chiratta puttu maker.
  • Add a small amount of grated coconut, chopped banana, jaggery, and rice flour mix.
  • Cover with a lid and place the top of the steamer
  • Cook for seven to eight minutes. Remove the steel chiratta puttu maker from the steamer.
  • Then remove the lid and carefully transfer the rice flour cake onto a plate.
  • Again, continue the same process on the balanced rice flour mix.
  • Finally, pour some honey on top of the rice jaggery mix cake.
  • Serve and enjoy the tasty and sweet rice cake with a coffee or tea.
