Pothichoru

Ingredients

  • Green Yardlong bean (pacha payar)
  • Red Yardlong bean (chuvanna payar)
  • Savala -2
  • Coconut -1
  • Green chilly – 5
  • Coconut oil
  • Mustard seed
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt

Method

  •  chop both beans, savala and green chilly.
  • put the pan in the stove and pour oil to it. When the oil gets hot add mustard to it. Then add curry leaves and the mix of beans to it. Add salt. Mix this mixture well and let it cook in the steam. Wait until its cooked enough and remove from the stove.

Potato mezhukkupuratti

  • Potato – 8 nos
  • Chilly powder – 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
  • Oil
  • Salt

Method of preparation

  •  cut the potato in long. Add chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to this and stir.
  • place a pan in the stove and let it get hot.pour the oil.put the potato in, when the oil is boiled and close the lid. Turn off the stove when its done.

 

Fish fry

Ingredients

  • Tuna fish – 1
  • Ginger -1
  • Garlic – 2
  • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 3 teaspoon
  • Chilly powder- 4 teaspoon
  • Pepper powder – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method of preparation

  •  grind ginger and garlic in a traditional grinding stone. Along with that grind coriander powder, chilly powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt. Add 2 teaspoon water to this mix and paste it in the fish.
  •  Place a frying pan in the stove and let it get hot. Pour some oil. Add the fish to it when the oil is hot enough and deep fry each side of the fish.

Chammandhi

  • Coconut -1
  • Dried red chilly – 7
  • Small onion -6
  • Salt – to taste
  • Tamarind – 1 piece

Method of preparation

  •  roast the chilly
    grind shredded coconut, roasted chilly, small onion, salt and tamarind piece in a traditional grinding stone.

Chammandhi ready

Omlet

  • Egg -4
  • Coconut – half piece
  • Green chilly – 4
  • Savala – 1
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil – to taste

Method of preparation

  •  chop the savala, green chilly and curry leaves in to thin pieces.
  •  take shredded coconut
  • add eggs to the above ingredients. Add enough salt and stir it well.
  •  place the pan on the stove and spread oil in it. Prepare the egg one by one.
  • Tasty omlet is ready.

Serve the cooked rice and all the dishes in a plantain leaf and tie them to make pothichoru.
