Coconut fish curry (pomfret curry)

Ingredients

  • Pomfret – 1/2 kg.
  • Coconut – 1 no.
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Pot tamarind – 8 nos.
  • Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Shallots – 10 nos.
  • Tomato – 2 nos.
  • Dried chilies – 6 nos.
  • Ginger – 1 no.
  • Green chilies.
  • Salt.
  • Coconut oil.
  • Mustard.
  • Curry leaves.

Method

  • Marinate the cleaned fish with salt, turmeric powder, coconut oil, pot tamarind, and curry leaves.
  • Make a paste of grated coconut, shallots, dried chilies, coriander powder.
  • Heat oil in a pot, splutter mustard. Saute in thinly sliced ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, and tomato. Add the paste and the marinated fish. When the curry comes to a boil. Remove from the flame.
  • Tasty fish curry is ready.
