Ingredients
- Black chickpeas – 2 cups
- Onion – 2 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – 6 to 7 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Tomatoes – 1 nos
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- fennel seed – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
Method
- Firstly we have to crush ginger and garlic ,set aside.
- Then soak the chickpeas for one or two hours.
- Then dried the soaked chickpeas and set a side.
- Heat oil in a pan Add green chilli ,curry leaves and chopped onion .
- Saute them well.
- Then add salt and saute till the onion become transulant.
- Add crushed ginger and garlic mix,saute them well.
- Then add some curry powders like red chilli powder ,coriander powder ,pepper powder ,garam masala ,crushed fennel seed and turmeric powder
- Saute them well for few minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soften .
- Then add soaked chickpeas and saute them well.
- Pour sufficient amount of water and mix them well.
- Cover and cook them well.
- Take a bowl add grated coconut and water ,Squeeze them well .
- Drain and keep aside.
- Remove the lid and check whether the chickpeas is well cooked or not.
- Then add coconut milk ,mix and cook them well.Add some curry leaves,green chilli and salt ,saute them well.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty chickpeas curry with appam
