Ingredients
- Garlic – 1kg
- Ginger – 1 big pieces
- Dry red chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
- Fenugreek powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Cumin seed powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Asafoetida powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Mustard oil – 6 to 7 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to peel the garlic and keep it aside.
- Then peel the ginger and set it aside.
- Wash the peeled ginger and chop them well.
- Then washed the peeled garlic and set it aside.
- Then cut it into two slits and keep it aside.
- Heat mustard oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Then add dry red chilli and curry leaves.
- Saute them well for a few minutes.
- Add chopped ginger and saute them well.
- Then add the garlic and saute them well for a few minutes.
- Add red chilli powder, fenugreek powder,cumin seed powder and asafoetida powder.
- Add some salt and combine them well.
- Saute them well till the raw smell completely disappears.
- Add some vinegar to the top and combine them well.
- Cook and saute for a few minutes.
- Remove from the fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty garlic pickles with meals.
