Ingredients
*Jackfruit – 1 no.
*Bird’s eye chilies – 10-15 nos.
*Grated coconut – 1 cup.
*Turmeric powder – 1 tablespoon.
*Cumin – 1 tablespoon.
*Curry leaves – 3 stems.
*Shallots – 5 – 6 nos.
*Garlic – 6 cloves.
*Rice – 2 tablespoon.
*Coconut oil – 3 tablespoons.
*Dried chilies – 2 – 3 nos.
*Mustard – 1 tablespoon.
*Water – 1/2 cup.
*Salt to taste.
Method
1)Peel the jackfruit and chop into small pieces.
2)Make a paste of coconut, turmeric powder, bird’s eye chilies, garlic, cumin, curry leaves.
3)Take a urili, heat oil and splutter mustard.
4)Add rice fry.
5)Add dried chilies, curry leaves and saute.
6)Add in the chopped jackfruit.
7)Saute in the paste to the jackfruit. Add in enough water to cook all the ingredients, season it with salt and cover and cook.
Raw jackfruit thoran ready.
