Ingredients
- Flattened rice/rice flakes – 200 g
- Potato -2
- Carrot – 1
- Savala – 1
- Green chilly – 3
- Red chilly -4
- Cashew
- Turmeric powder -1/2 teaspoon
- Chilly powder – 1 teaspoon
- Oil
- Mustard
- Salt
- Curry leaves
Method
- sprinkle salt water in the rice flakes(aval)
- cook small pieces of potato.
- chop carrot, savala and green chilly
- place the vessel in the stove and pour some oil to it. Put some mustard to it. When it begin to sputtered add Savala and green chilly to it and saute them. Add carrot, curry leaves and enough salt to this. Then add cashews and saute them. Add potato to this.
- add turmeric and chilly powder to this mix. Finally add the aval we kept aside and mix everything well. Turn off the stove.
- The upma is ready.
