Kerala Style Breakfast Tapioca Recipe – Kappa

Dry red chilli chutney

Ingredients

  • Shallots – 5 or 6 nos
  • Dry red chilli – 5 or 6 nos
  • Tamarind – small ball.
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
  • Oil – 1 or 2 tbsp

Method

  • Firstly, we have to peel the shallots and set them aside.
  • Then, set aside the stalks of the dry red chilli.
  • Then wash and clean the shallots and set them aside.
  • Then cut the shallots and set them aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add shallots and dry red chilli .
  • Saute and fry them well.
  • Remove from fire and set aside.
  • Then grind the fried dry red chilli and salt into a smooth powder.
  • Again, add fried shallots and tamarind into a smooth paste.
  • Then transfer into a bowl and set aside.
  • Then pour some oil and mix them well.
  • Serve and enjoy the tasty boiled tapioca with chutney

Boiled tapioca 

Ingredients

  • Tapioca – 1 kg
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Water – 1 ltr

Method

  • Take a pan add water and boil them well.
  • Then we have to cut the tapioca into small pieces.
  • Then peel and keep one side.
  • Then cut it in half length wise.
  • Then wash and clean the tapioca two to three times.
  • After that, drain and set aside.
  • Then, add the cleaned tapioca to the pan of boiled hot water.
  • Then sprinkle some salt and curry leaves ,mix them well.
  • Cover and boil them well.
  • Remove the lid and please check when the tapioca pieces are getting cooked.
  • Do not overcook the tapioca.
  • Then drain all the water.
  • Serve and enjoy the tasty boiled tapioca with chutney
