Ingredients
- Soya chunks – 50g
- Onion – 3nos
- Green chilli – 3nos
- Garlic- 8 to 9 nos
- Ginger – 2-3 small pieces
- Tomatoes- 2 nos
- Shallots – 10 to 11 nos
- Grated Coconut – 50g
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder -1 tbsp
- Pepper powder-1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
Method
- First peel and wash onions and keep it aside
- Peel and wash garlic, ginger and green chillies and keep it aside
- Wash tomatoes and keep it aside
- Wash shallots and keep it aside
- Chop the onion and keep it aside
- Then Cut the ginger and garlic for making paste
- Then Cut green chillies
- Then Cut tomatoes and cut shallots in to small pieces keep all these aside
- Now add some boiled water to the soya chunks and keep it aside
- Grate some coconut
- Heat some oil in a pan and add the grated coconut , saute till it turns brown and add transfer it in to a plate and let it cool
- Then make the ginger garlic paste
- Now drain all the water from the soya chunks
- Then cut it into small pieces and transfer it in to another bowl
- Add tomatoes , onion, green chilli, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste , turmeric powder , coriander powder, red chilli powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder and salt
- Mix it well with hands and add some water
- Now keep it in stove and close the pan
- Now grind the roasted coconut well in a grinding stone and transfer it to a plate
- Then heat some oil in a pan and put some mustard seeds and add shallots and curry leaves, now saute it well ,then add ginger garlic paste and add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and then saute it well
- Then add the grinded coconut paste and mix it
- Add the cooked soya chunks and a little bit of water and mix well and cook for some time
- Once the soya chunks curry is ready
- Remove from fire and set aside
- Serve the tasty kerala style soya chunks curry
