Kerala Style Tapioca With Fish Curry- Kappayum Meenu

Ingredients

  • Fish – 1 kg
  • Ginger – 1 medium
  • Garlic- 5 or 6 nos
  • Grren chilli – 3 nos
  • Curry leaves – 2 or 3 sprigs
  • Tamarind – 4 or 5 nos
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder – 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Fenugreek powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Mustard seed – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut oil – 1 tbsp

Method

  •  First we cut and clean the sardine fish and keep a side
  •  Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed ,let them sizzle.
  •  Add chopped ginger ,garlic ,green chilli and curry leaves ,saute them well.
  •  Then we add red chilli powder , saute for some minutes and add water mix it well
  •  Again we add fenugreek powder, tamarind and turmeric powder mix it well and
    cover and cook for some minutes.
  •  Then we add sardine fish ,cover and cook for 9 to 10minutes till the fish is well
    cooked.
  •  Finally we add 1 tbsp of oil into the fish curry
  •  Turn off the flame and keep a side
  •  Enjoy the fish curry with tapioca.

Tapioca Recipe

  • Ingredients
  • Tapioca- 1kg
  • Grated coconut – ½ cup
  • Green chilli -3 nos
  • Garlic – 3 or 4 nos
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Cumin seed – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – 4 or 5 nos
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  •  First we clean and cut the tapioca into small pieces and keep it in a bowl
  •  Heat water in a heavy bottom pan add tapioca and salt ,cover and cook till the tapioca
    is done.
  •  Drain the excess water and keep it a side
  •  Grind the grated coconut ,green chilli, turmeric powder, cumin seed ,garlic ,curry
    leaves and salt , and transfer into a bowl .
  •  Then we add grinded coconut paste into the cooked tapioca pan.
  •  Then cook for some minutes and turn off the flame.
  •  Then mash the tapioca and grinded coconut paste well
  •  Serve and enjoy kerala style tapioca with fish curry.
