Ingredients
- Chicken-2kg
- Onion – 5 nos medium sized
- Tomatoes- 2nos
- Green chilli-4 nos
- Garlic – 10-12 nos
- Ginger – 2 nos
- Curry leaves
- Grated coconut – 100g
- Cardamom- 5/6 nos
- Cinnamon-2 nos
- Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder- 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1-1.5 tbsp
- Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Method
- Wash chicken and set it aside
- Peel the onion , garlic and ginger , then keep it aside
- Wash the peeled onion , garlic and ginger along with tomatoes and green chilli
- Then chop the onion and set it aside
- Then cut tomatoes and keep it aside
- Crush ginger and garlic
- Then grate coconut
- Now heat a pan and put the cardamom and cinnamon then add grated coconut to it and add curry leaves and a teaspoon of oil
- Then add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and mix well and roast it
- Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool
- Then grind it well in a grinding stone
- Heat oil in a pan and add fennel seeds amd ginger garlic paste
- Then add onion, green chilli , curry leaves and when it’s half cooked add the tomatoes , mix it well
- Then add the coconut paste to it and add water
- Add chicken to it
- Check whether the chicken is cooked or not
- Once the chicken is ready
- Remove from fire and set it aside
- Serve the tasty varutharacha kerala style chicken curry
