Ingredients
- Rice flour – 1 cup
- Banana – 2 nos
- Jaggery – 250 gram
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Crush cardamom – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
Method
- In a pan, add grated jaggery and water.
- Boil them well till the jaggery is completely melted.
- Remove them from the fire and strain them well.
- In a bowl, add rice flour, salt and crushed cardamom powder. Combine them well.
- Add the required amount of water little by little to the rice flour and mix thoroughly with a wooden spatula.
- When it is warm enough to handle, knead it with your hands until the dough becomes soft. Keep it aside.
- Then peeled the banana and chopped it into thin slices.
- Heat a pan and add grated coconut and stained jaggery.
- Stir them well till the jaggary water is completely absorbed by the grated coconut.
- Now add the crushed cardamom and stir them well.
- Then add the chopped bananas and stir them well.
- Then cook for a few minutes,remove from the fire, and set aside.
- Heat water in a steamer and place an idli steamer in it.
- Then take a turmeric leaf and cut it in half.
- Wash them well with water and set them aside.
- Take a lemon-sized piece of dough and flatten it over a turmeric leaf with your fingers.
- Then place a small amount of jaggery-banana mix on top and spread it.
- Again, fold in half lengthwise and press gently on the sides.
- Then place the turmeric leaf ada on the steamer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once it is well cooked, remove the turmeric ada from the steamer and cool it well.
- Serve and enjoy the turmeric leaf ada with coffee or tea.
