yam thoran

*Yam – 1/4 kg.
*Grated coconut – 1/2 portion.
*Garlic – 6 cloves.
*Dried chilies – 10 nos.
*Green chilies – 5 nos.
*Cumin – 1 teaspoon.
*Curry leaves – 2 stems.
*Turmeric – 1/2 teaspoon.
*Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon.
*Mustard – 1 teaspoon.
*Salt to taste.

1) Peel, clean, and cut yam and keep aside.
2) Grate coconut and keep it ready.
3) Clean garlic, shallots.
4) Make a paste of grated coconut, green chilies, garlic, shallots, cumin, curry leaves, turmeric powder, and water.
5) Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard. Saute in shallots till the raw taste subside. Add in curry leaves.
6) Saute in the yam, season with salt and add in the paste and let it cook.
Tasty yam thoran ready…
