Ingredients
- Green peas-1 cup
- Beans -5 or 6 nos
- Carrot – 2 nos
- Potatoes – 2 nos
- Garlic – 7 or 8 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Grated coconut -1 cup
- Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
- Dry red chillies – 4 nos
- Cardamom – 3 nos
- Cinnamon- 1 nos
- Cloves-3 nos
- Salt – 2 or 3 tsp
- Oil – 1 or 2 tbsp
method
- Firstly , we have to wash and drain the green peas and keep aside.
- Then we have to peel ,cut and wash the vegetables like beans, potato carrot ,set aside.
- Heat water in a pan ,add cleaned green peas and boil them well and keep aside.
- Take a pan add grated coconut and small amount of water ,squeeze them well and drain thick coconut milk and keep aside.
- Again we have to use the same squeezed grated coconut and some amount of water ,mix them well and drain thin coconut milk .
- Heat oil in a pan add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon ,saute them well.
- Add chopped onion ,chopped garlic and ginger ,saute for few seconds.
- Then add dry red chilli and few curry leaves ,mix them well.
- Add some vegetables like chopped beans ,carrots, chopped potatoes and salt ,saute them well and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Add thin coconut milk and pepper powder ,cook for some minutes.
- Then we have to add cooked green peas and mix them well.
- Finally, we have to add thick coconut milk and mix them well.
- Remove from fire and keep aside.
- Serve the easy vegetable stew with appam
