Ingredients
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Shallots – 14 to 15 nos
- Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Green chilli -5 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 or 4 sprigs
- Thick curd – 3 or 4 tbsp
- Dry red chilli – 3 nos
- Fennel seed – 1 tbsp
- Rice flour – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Corn flour – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Oil – 1/2 ltr
Method
- Firstly ,we have to cut and clean the chicken,
- Then wash and drain set aside.
- Then we have to crush the dry red chillies and set them aside.
- Now we have to crush green chillies,curry leaves, and fennel seeds into a smooth paste.
- Again, add garlic and ginger , crush them well,
- Add shallots and combine the whole ground ingredients and set aside.
- Take a bowl, add cleaned chicken pieces and grounded green chilli mix masala .
- Add turmeric powder, rice flour ,corn flour and salt .
- Then we have to add red chilli powder and crushed red chilli flakes
- Again, add pepper powder ,thick curd and an egg
- Combine them well and marinate for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add marinated chicken pieces .
- Fry them well till they become light golden brown .
- Drain and keep aside.Repeat the process with the remaining batches.
- serve and enjoy the thattukada style chicken fry with meals or appam .
