Ingredients
- Fish – 1 kg
- Tamarind – small ball
- Shallots – 20 to 22 nos
- Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Dry red chilli – 3 or 4 nos
- Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Fenugreek seed – 1 tsp
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
- Oil – 1 or 2 tbsp
Method
- In a bowl, add the tamarind and water .
- Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Then cut and cleaned the fish.
- Then cut the fish into small pieces
- Then thoroughly wash them and set them aside.
- Then we have to crush the dry red chilli into fine powder
- Then add ginger and garlic and grind them well. Set them aside.
- Take a bowl and add turmeric powder,red chilli powder, and coriander powder.
- Then add some water and mix them well. Then make a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek and mustard seed.
- Let them crack.
- Then add curry leaves and grinded dry red chilli mix
- Saute for a few minutes.
- Add chopped shallots,curry leaves, and green chilli.
- Sauté them well.
- Then add red chilli powder and coriander mix paste .
- Combine them well.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soft.
- Then add the drained tamarind water and mix them well.
- cover and boil them well.
- Then add mackerel fish pieces and combine them well.
- cover and cook till the fish become well cooked
- Finally, pour some oil and curry leaves , mixing them well.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Remove from the heat and set aside.
