Ingredients
- Tapioca – 1 kg
- Cow peas- 1/2 cup
- Green gram – 1/2 cup
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
- Green chilli – 2 nos
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 3 or 4 tbsp
Method
- Heat water in a pan
- Take a bowl, add cow peas and green gram
- Pour water and wash them well.
- Drain and set aside.
- Then, into the hot water pan, add the cleaned cowpeas and green gram.
- Cover and cook them well.
- The tapioca should then be peeled and set aside.
- Then wash and clean the tapioca two to three times.
- After that, drain and set aside.
- Take a pan add chopped tapioca pieces and water
- Add some turmeric powder and salt ,mix them well.
- Remove the lid and check whether the peas are well cooked or not.
- Take the pan off the heat and set it aside.
- Then they cooked the tapioca with heat
- Cover and boil them well.
- Then crush the green chilli,cumin seed and garlic
- Then add grated coconut and turmeric powder
- Grind them well and keep them aside.
- Remove the lid and please check when the tapioca pieces are getting cooked.
- Do not overcook the tapioca.
- Then drain all the water.
- Then add ground coconut paste to the tapioca cooking pan
- Add cooked cow peas and green gram
- Combine them well.
- Cover and cook them well.
- Combine them well with a spatula
- Remove from the heat and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add dry red chilli and curry leaves.
- Fry them well.
- Pour the mixture into the kappa payar mix pan
- Combine them well
- Serve the kappa payar puzhukku and enjoy it.
