Ingredients
- Mackerel fish – 1 kg
- Onion – 2 nos
- Shallots – 9 to 10 nos
- Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
- Curry leaves – 2 to 3 sprigs
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Red chilli powder – 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Pepper powder – 1 tsp
- salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 7 to 8 nos
Method
- First, we have to cut and clean the fish.
- Wash them well and set them aside.
- Take a pan add mackerel fish.
- Then add red chilli powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt.
- Then add lemon juiceand mix them well.
- Marinated the fish for half an hour.
- Then chop the peeled onion and set it aside.
- Then chop the shallots and set aside.
- Then chop the green chilli and set it aside.
- Then chop the tomatoes and set them aside.
- Then crush the ginger and garlic into a fine paste and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add marinated mackerel fish.
- Fry them well until they become golden brown.
- Drain the excess oil and set it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add chopped shallots.
- Sauté them well. for a few minutes.
- Add crushed ginger and garlic and sauté them well.
- Sprinkle with salt and sauté the onion until translucent.
- Add curry leaves and green chillies and sauté them well.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes and sauté them well.
- Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Cook until the raw flavour and smell are completely gone.
- Remove from the heat and set aside .
- Take one banana leaf and place it in the fire. Just heat the leaf and set it aside.
- Then place some masala mix on the banana leaf.
- Place one fried fish on top of that, along with some more masala.
- Fold the banana leaf and make a packet.
- Now tie it with a string.
- Heat a pan, sprinkle some coconut oil, and place the fish packets.
- Then cook both sides for 10 to 13 minutes on a low flame.
- Set aside after removing from the pan.
- Then remove the tie and open the tasty masala fish fry.
- Serve and enjoy the tasty mackerel fish fry with meals.
