Ingredients
- Anchovy fish – 1kg
- Shallots – 16 to 17nos
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – 7 or 8 nos
- Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Curry leaves – 2 or 3 tbsp
- Tamarind – small ball
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Cumin seed – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
Method
- Firstly we have to cut and clean the fish .
- Then wash and drain ,set aside
- Heat oil in a pan add shallots ,ginger, garlic and fennel seed ,saute them well.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soften.
- Then add red chilli powder and turmeric powder
- Saute them well for few minutes.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Then grind the sauted shallots and red chilli powder mix into a smooth paste and set aside..
- Heat oil in a pan ,add fenugreek seed
- Add green chilli and curry leaves,saute them well.
- Then add the grinded mixture of shallots and red chilli powder and saute them well.
- Pour some water and mix them well.
- Add soaked tamarind water and mix them well.
- Sprinkle some salt on them and stir them well.
- Cover and boil for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add cleaned anchovies fish and mix it well.
- Cover and cook them well.
- Remove from fire and keep aside.
- Serve the tasty anchovy fish curry with tapioca or meals
