Easy dal curry


  • Dal-1/2 kg
  • Chilli powder-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Tomato- 2 medium
  • Onion -4 or 5
  • Green chilli-5 or 6
  • Garlic -5 or 6 petals
  • Ginger-1 medium
  • Dry red chilli-3 or 4 nos
  • Mustard seed-1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida- ½ tsp
  • Salt –to taste
  • Water-for cooking
  • Coconut oil-for cooking


  •  Wash the dal and cook along with the chilli powder,turmeric powder,curry
    leaves,salt,coconut oil and water .
  •  Then we crush the dry red chilli,ginger and garlic separately ,keep it in a side
  •  In a frying pan ,heat oil.add mustard seed ,when it crackled
  •  Add onion ,green chiili,curry leaves,crushed dry red chilli ,ginger ,garlic and
    salt,then they sauted until onion turns slight brown
  •  Then we add turmeric powder ,tomato and cooked dal mix well
  •  Again we add tamarind water and asafoetida mix well and cook for some
  •  Turn off the flame and serve easy dal curry with meals
  •  Enjoy the meal with this easy dal curry
