Ingredients
*Raw rice -1 and 1/2 glass.
*Urad dal – 1 glass.
*Salt.
*Shallots.
*Green chilies.
*Ginger.
*Curry leaves.
*Potato.
*Tomato.
*Eggplant.
*Onion.
*Hing.
*Cucumber.
*Drumstick.
*Lentil.
*Turmeric powder.
*Coconut oil.
*Fenugreek powder.
*Cumin powder.
*Tamarind.
*Chili powder.
Method
1)Soak raw rice and urad dal.
2)Chop Shallots, green chilies, curry leaves, and ginger. Clean and cut all vegetables.
3) Cover and cook lentils with hing, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt, and coconut oil.
4) When the lentils are half cooked add in vegetables. When vegetables come to boil add in salt, fenugreek powder, cumin powder. Soak tamarind and add it to the vegetable.
5)Heat chili powder, and coriander powder. Mix the heated powder in water and add it to the vegetables.
6)In another pan, heat oil. Splutter mustard, saute in shallots, dried chilies, and curry leaves. Add the fried shallots mix to the sambar.
7)Add ginger, shallots, curry leaves to the idli batter. In an idli steamer, pour the batter and steam it.
Idli and sambar are ready.
