Kerala style cashew nut curry


  • Raw cashew -nut-15
  • Onion(pearl)-10 or 20
  • Chilli-2 or 3 nos
  • Coconut pieces-1/2 piece
  • Grated coconut-1 cup
  • Garam masala-1tsp
  • Oil -6 or 7 tsp
  • Mustard seed-1tsp
  • Coriander powder-1 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder-1tsp
  • Salt –to taste


  1.  First we crush the cashew nut into pieces, and soak in hot water wash and clear them well
    and keep a side.
  2.  Take a pan and add grated coconut and stir it become golden brown.then we grinded
    coconut and garam masala
  3.  Then we take another pan heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed and then .we will add
    sauted coconut pieces, onion and chilli for 2to 3 minutes till light golden brown
  4.  Lower the flame and add coriander powder,chilli powder and add salt to taste.then we add
    raw cashew nut and cook well
  5.  Finally we add the coconut paste to the cashew nut pan.mix gently to combine and adjust
    salt.serve hot with steamed rice and appam
