Kerala style soursop fruit curry –Mullatha curry

Ingredients

  • Soursop fruit – 1 or 2 nos
  • Shallots 25 to 30 nos
  • Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
  • Green chilli- 3 nos.
  • Tomato – 1 nos
  • Grated coconut -1 cup
  • Dry red chilli -5 or 6 nos
  • Coriander seed – 1 tbsp
  • Fennel seed – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seed – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
  • Oil – 2 or 3 tbsp

Method

  • Firstly peel and cut the soursop into small pieces,then wash and set aside.
  • Heat small amount of oil in apan add dry red chilli and coriander seed saute them well .
  • Then add grated coconut and fennel seed ,roasted them well and keep aside.
  • Grind roasted dry red chilli and coconut into fine paste and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed ,let the crackled.
  • Add dry red chilli,three or four chopped shallots and curry leaves saute them well.
  • Add shallots ,green chilli and turmeric powder saute them well.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes and fine paste of dry red chilli and coconut mix ,combine them well.
  • Add some water and mix them.
  • Then add salt and soursop mix ,cover and cook well till for 9 to 10 minutes.
  • Finally sprinkle some curry leaves and mix well.
  • Serve and enjoy the tasty curry with meals
