Kerala Style Spicy Sardine Curry

Ingredients

  • Sardine fish – 1 kg
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Garlic – 5 or 6 nos
  • Shallots – 9 to 10 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 nos
  • Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
  • Tomato – 2 nos
  • Red chilli powder – 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Malabar tamarind -4 or 5 nos
  • Fenugreek seed – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seed – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 3 or 4 tsp
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tsp

Method

  • Firstly ,we have to cut , clean and wash ,set aside.
  • Take a bowl add Malabar tamarind and water ,soak them well.
  • Then we have to crush ginger and garlic set aside.
  • Take a bowl add red chilli powder and water ,mix them well and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed and fenugreek seed ,lets them crackled.
  • Add chopped shallots ,green chilli ,curry leaves and ginger garlic paste ,saute them well.
  • Then add chopped tomato and saute till they become soften.
  • Then pour red chilli water mix and combine them well.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt saute them well.
  • Then add soaked Malabar tamarind and cleaned sardine fish ,mix ,cover and cook them well.
  • Finally sprinkle some curry leaves and cook for five minutes.
  • Remove from fire and set aside.
  • Serve and enjoy spicy fish curry with boiled tapioca or meals.
