Kerala Style Kinnathappam Recipe | Breakfast Recipe


1.White Rice – 1kg
2.grated Coconut – ½ cup
3.Sugar – 1/2 cup or as needed
4.Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
5.Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1/2 tsp
6.Ghee-1 pinch


 Wash and Soak basmati rice for 2 or3 hours drain them and
 Grind rice along with grated coconut, suga rand cumin seed thin until very smooth batter. Pour the batter
into a bowl.
 Add some crushed cardamom seed , dry grapes and cashew nuts,and mix them well.
 The batter consistency should not be too thick nor too watery, should have a medium consistency
 Take a large pan  add 1 cup of water in it. Place a support over the water
 Grease a steel bowl with ghee. Pour the batter inside the bowl. Sprinkle the top with some cashew nuts
 Place this over a wide pan of boiling water. Cover and cook for 20 to 25 minuts
 Remove them and cut into pieces.
