*Bird’s eye chili – 10 -12 nos.
*Sardines/ mathi – half kg.
*Gambodge/ Kudampuli – 3 pcs.
*Shallots – 3 nos.
*Garlic – 5 cloves.
*Ginger – as per spice preference.
*Curry leaves – as desired.
*Pepper – as per spice preference.
*Salt to taste.
*Turmeric powder – 1 Teaspoon.
How to prepare
1 Clean the fish thoroughly, make deep slits in the fish for the flavors to sink in. Rub in the kudampuli to the fish and keep it aside.
2 Combine well ginger, garlic, bird’s eye chilies, shallots, curry leaves, and salt.
3 Rub the above-prepared masala into the fish.
4 To prepare the banana leaf clean and keep it above a flame. The deep green color of the leaf should change slightly. To the prepared leaf place the marinated fish and make a parcel and grill it over a flame.
