Ingredients
- Raw mango -2nos
- Shallots-18to 20 nos
- Ginger -1 nos
- Garlic 6to 7 nos
- Green chilli -3 to 4 nos
- Curry leaves -3 to 4 springs
- Grated coconut -1 cup
- Red chilli powder – 11/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder -1/2 tbsp
- Fenugreek -1tsp
- Mustard seeds -1tsp
- Oil -5 to 6 tbsp
- Salt -1 or 2 tbsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to cut the raw mango and set it aside.
- Then wash the raw mango, peeled shallots and green chili ,set aside.
- Then chop the mango lengthwise and keep it aside.
- Then chopped the green chili and shallots , set them aside.
- Take a plate and add grated coconut, red chili powder and turmeric powder.
- Then add shallots and curry leaves for grinding and set aside.
- Now we have to grind the whole ingredients into a coarse paste and keep them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek seed.
- Then add chopped shallots, ginger and garlic.
- Then add fresh curry leaves and saute them well for a few minutes.
- Then add the grinded, coarse coconut paste and saute them well.
- Then add some water to the grinded coconut mix bowl and mix it through the curry pan.
- Stir them well for a few minutes.
- Add some salt and mix them well.
- Cover and boil them well.
- Remove the lid and check whether the gravy is well boiled.
- Once the gravy is well boiled, add the cleaned prawns and stir them well.
- Cover and cook for a few minutes.
- Then remove the lid and add raw mango pieces and green chili.
- Cook them well till the prawns and mangoes are well cooked.
- Remove from heat and keep aside.
- Heat oil in another pan, add mustard seeds, and let them crack.
- Then add dry red chili and saute for a few minutes.
- Then add chopped shallots and curry leaves.
- Saute and fry them well.
- Remove from heat and pour the ingredients into the prawn curry pan.
- Serve the tasty prawns in raw mango curry with meals.
