Ingredients
- Sardine Fish – 1 kg
- Onion – 2 nos
- Green chilli – 2 to 3 nos
- Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Fenugreek powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Dry red chilli – 7 to 8 nos
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 5 to 6 tbsp
Method
- Firstly, we have to peel the onion and set it aside.
- Peel the garlic and set it aside.
- Then peel the ginger and keep it aside.
- Then wash and drain the peeled onion, green chilli, garlic and ginger.
- Chopped the onion and set aside.
- Then cut the green chilli and keep it aside.
- Chop the tomatoes and keep them aside.
- Crush the dry red chilli into a fine powder and keep aside.
- Then crush the ginger and garlic into a fine paste and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and let them crackle.
- Then add green chilli and chopped onion.
- Saute them well for a few minutes.
- Then add crushed ginger and garlic and sauté them well.
- Add crushed dry red chilli and turmeric powder.
- Then add pepper powder and fenugreek powder.
- Then add some red chilli powder and sauté them well.
- Then add some red chilli powder.
- Then add the tomatoes and sauté till the become soft.
- Then sprinkle some salt on them and sauté them well.
- Then add the cleaned fish and mix them properly.
- Add some water and mix them well.
- Cover and cook till the fish is well cooked.
- Remove the lid and add some curry leaves.
- Again, cover with a lid and cook them well.
- Remove the lid and check whether the fish is cooked or not.
- Once the fish roast is ready,
- Remove from the fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty sardine fish roast
