Tamarind candy

Ingredients

  • Tamarind- 250g
  • Jaggery – 200g
  • Sugar – 50g
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp

Method 

  • Today we are going to prepare tamarind candy
  • First Take tamarind in an bowl and add a bit of water and mix it with hand and keep it aside to let it melt
  • Now grate the jaggery and keep it aside
  • Now remove all the fibers and seeds from the mixed tamarind
  • And stir in well and keep it aside
  • Now heat oil in a pan
  • And add grated jaggery in to it and stir it continuously till it melts completely
  • Then add the tamarind paste when the jaggery is completely melted
  • Now mix this jaggery and tamarind well till its consistency becomes thick
  • The add some salt and red chilli powder and mix well again
  • Stir it continuously
  • Then add sugar and mix till it dissolves
  • Now transfer it in to a bowl and let it cool
  • Then wrap it in a candy wrapper
  • Tamarind candy / puli mittayi is ready
