Kerala Style Tuna Fish Roast – Choora meen Roast

Ingredients

  • Tuna fish – 1 kg
  • Shallots – 20 to 22 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 or 4 nos
  • Garlic – 7 to 8 nos
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Curry leaves – 2 or 3 sprigs
  • Lemon – 1/2 piece
  • Tamarind – small piece
  • Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
  • Oil – 6 o7 tbsp

Method

  • Firstly we have to cut and wash the tuna fish .
  • Wash and drain set aside.
  • Take a bowl and cut and squeeze half lemon and set aside.
  • Take a mud pot add cleaned tuna fish, salt and lemon juice
  • Then add some spices like pepper powder , red chilli powder and turmeric powder
  • Then add few curry leaves and mix them well.
  • Then marinated for one hour .
  • Crush ginger and garlic ,set aside.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan ,add marinated fish
  • Then fry both sides golden brown and crisp,
  • Drain and set aside.
  • Soak tamarind and water
  • Heat oil in a pot add mustard seed ,let them cracked .
  • Add crushed ginger garlic ,saute them well.
  • Then add curry leaves and green chilli ,saute them well.
  • Add chopped shallots ,saute for few minute
  • Then sprinkle some salt and saute them well.
  • Add turmeric powder ,red chilli powder and coriander powder .
  • Then add some fenugreek powder and pepper powder ,saute them well.
  • Then pour squeezed tamarind water and stir them well.
  • Then add fried fish and combine them well.
  • Finally add curry leaves and coconut oil ,cook for some minutes.
  • Serve the tasty tuna fish roast with meals.
