Ingredients
- Urad dal – 1 cup
- Shallots – 16 to 17 nos
- Garlic – 8 or 9 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 or 4 sprigs
- Tamarind – small ball
- Dry red chilli – 4 or 5 nos
- Oil – 3 or 4 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
Method
- Take a pan add urad dal and water
- Then thoroughly wash and drain them before setting them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add urad dal and saute them well.
- Add dry red chillies,grated coconut ,curry leaves ,shallots ,garlic and ginger
- Saute and fry them well.
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Then grind the roasted dry red chilli and salt into a fine powder.
- Then add tamarind and grind them well.
- Now add the roasted coconut mix and grind into a smooth paste. Set aside.
- Then pour some water and mix them well
- Heat oil in a pan ,add dry red chillies ,shallots and curry leaves .
- Saute and fry them well.
- Add the roasted ground coconut mix and mix them well.
- Add some amount of water and mix them well.
- Cook for some minutes
- Remove from fire and set aside.
- Serve the tasty urad dal chutney with Idli or dosa
