Ingredients
- Trevally fish – 1 kg
- Shallots – 12 to 15 nos
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Green chilli – 4 nos
- Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Tamarind – small ball
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 2 or 3 tbsp
Method
- Firstly we have to cut and clean the fish.
- Wash them well and drain ,set side.
- Then cut it into medium size pieces .
- Take a bowl add tamarind and water ,soak for 5 to 6 minutes .
- Then grind ginger ,garlic, shallots, green chilli and tomatoes
- Then add red chilli powder and turmeric powder into smooth paste ,set aside.
- Heat oil in a mud pot ,add chopped shallots .
- Saute well until they are translucent.
- Then add tomatoes and curry leaves ,sauce them well.
- Then add ground masala paste and mix them well.
- Then add soaked tamarind water and stir them well.
- Then add some salt for taste and mix it well.
- Cover and boil them well.
- Remove the lid and stir them well.
- Add cleaned fish pieces ,stir them well.
- Cover and cook them well till the fish is well cooked
- Remove the lid and check whether the fish is cooked through or not.
- Put out the flame and set it aside.
- Serve the tasty fish curry with tapioca or meals
