Crispy Kerala Style Chakka Chips


  • Jack fruit – 1 kg
  • Oil-1 kg
  • Salt- 1 or 2tsp


  • Firstly remove outer thorny green skin and cut it into half and remove the flesh one by one.
  • Then Split open each flesh of fruit and remove the seeds. Store the unseeded fruits
    separately,And then slice the Jack fruit into thin strips.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom frying pan add the jackfruits slices in batches and fry in medium-
    high heat till crisp.
  • Strain excess oil and keep aside.
  • Take a bowl add salt and water then,mix until the salt is melted.
  • Then sprinkle the salt water into jackfruit chips and mix them well.
  • Then remove the jackfruit chips from the bowl and store them in airtight containers.
