Healthy Evening Snack – Panikoorka Bajji | Mexican Mint


  • Mexican mint – 17 to 18 nos
  • Gram flour – 1 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour – 1 cup
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
  • Oil – 1/2 ltr


  • Firstly, we have to wash and clean the Mexican mint leaves.
  • Then dry the Mexican leaves and set them aside.
  • Take a bowl and add gram flour and rice flour.
  • Then add red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  • Add asafoetida powder and salt.Mix them well.
  • Add some water and make it into a smooth batter.
  • It should be a little thinner than dosa batter,but don’t make it too thin.Heat oil in a pan, dip the Mexican mint leaves in the batter and coat well.
  • Then, drop the leaves into the oil.
  • Then we have to flip the leaves once the other side gets golden brown.
  • Remove the Mexican mint leaves bajji from the oil and set aside to drain excess oil.
  • Serve the Mexican mint leaves with tea or coffee.
