Kerala Sadya Special Puli Inchi

Ingredients

  • Tamarind – small ball
  • Shallots – 12 to13 nos
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos
  • Jaggery – 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2to 3 tsp

Method

  • Take a bowl and add tamarind and water. Soak for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Chop the shallots and set them aside.
  • Then chop the ginger and set it aside.
  • Then chop the green chilli and set it aside.
  • Then grated the jaggery and set it aside.
  • squeezed the soaked tamarind.
  • Drain the tamarind water and set it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed and dry red chilli.
  • Then add the shallots and saute them well.
  • Then add chopped ginger and sauté them well.
    Then add green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Saute them well.
  • Sprinkle some salt on them and sauté them well.
  • Add grated jaggery and mix them well.
  • Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and asafoetida powder.
  • Saute them well till the raw smell is completely gone.

Add the drained tamarind water and stir them well.Add grated
