Tapioca Fish Biriyani Recipe

Ingredients

  • Tapioca – 1 kg
  • Sardine fish -1 kg
  • Ginger – 1 medium
  • Garlic – 6 or 7 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 nos
  • Dry red chilli – 3 nos
  • Curry leaves – 4 sprigs
  • Grated coconut -1/2 cup
  • Onion – 3 nos
  • Lemon– ½ piece
  • Coriander leaves – one hand full
  • Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 11/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Fenugreek powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Mustard seed – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 4 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  • First we have to peel the skin and wash the tapioca and cut into cube
  • Heat water in a pan and add tapioca and salt ,cook till the tapioca turns soften
  • Drain excess water and set aside.
  • Then we have to cut and clean the fish and set aside
  • Take a bowl add cleaned fish,salt, pepper,red chilli powder and turmeric powder mix well
    and marinated for half an hour .
  • Then we have to crush ginger and garlic set aside
  • Again we have to grind green chilli,dry red chilli,grated coconut and curry leaves set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan add marinated fish and fry it well
  • Drain excess oil and keep aside.
  • Again we have to use the same pan ,add spluttered mustard seed .
  • Add chopped onion and curry leaves saute well.
  • Then we have to add crush ginger , garlic and salt ,set aside.
  • Add curry powders like fenugreek powder,red chilli powder and turmeric powder ,saute well
  • Now we have to add crushed coconut and squeezed lemon juice , mix well
  • Add fried fish and water ,mix well and cook for 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Then we have to add coriander leaves and boiled tapioca .
  • Combine it well and cook for some minutes.
  • Remove from fire and set aside.
  • Serve and enjoy the taste of tapioca fish biriyani
