Jackfruit Seed Theeyal


*Jackfruit seed – 1 and 1/2 cup.
*Grated coconut -1 and 1/2 cup.
*Shallots – 1/2 cup.
*Coconut bites – 1/4 cup.
*Chili powder -1 tablespoon.
*Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon.
*Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons.
*Garam masala –  1 tablespoon.
*Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon.
*Mustard seed  – 1 teaspoon.
For seasoning
*Coconut oil – 2 tablespoons.
*Mustard seed – 1/2 teaspoon.
*Shallots – 1 Handful.
*Curry leaves – 2 stems.
*Dried chilies – 4 nos.

1)Fry the grated coconut till it turns brown, not burned.
2)Clean the jackfruit seed and split into two.
3)Keep the coconut bites ready, slit the shallots, and chilies.
4)Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds.
5)Saute in coconut bites and fry.
6)When the coconut bites change color add in the shallots and chilies.
7)Saute in 1 tablespoon chili powder,1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoon coriander powder.
8)Add in the jackfruit seed and water and cook till jackfruit seed is done.
9)Once cooked add in salt.
10)Make a fine paste of the fried grated coconut and garam masala.
11) Add the paste to the cooked jackfruit seed gravy mix well and turn off the flame.
12)Take a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seed, shallots, curry leaves, and dried chilies. Add this seasoning to the gravy.
