Kerala Style Beef Roast


  • Beef -1 kg
  • Shollots -25 to 30 nos
  • Onion – 2 to3 nos
  • Ginger – 1 big
  • Garlic 8 to 10nos
  • Coriander powder – 1 ½ tbsp
  • Red chilli flakes- 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Fennel seed – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1or 2tbsp
  • Oil – 4 to 5 tbsp


  • First, we have to cut the beef into medium sized pieces and set them aside.
  • Then wash and drain the beef, setting it aside.
  • crush the peeled shallots and set aside.
  • Again, crush the ginger, garlic, and green chilli keep them aside.
  • Then take a cleaned beef pan and add coriander powder,red chilli flakes,red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Then add crushed mixes like ginger, garlic, green chilli and shallots.
  • Sprinkle some fresh curry leaves on the top.
  • Mix them well with neat hands or a spatula.
  • Add a small amount of water and mix them well.
  • Add the cooked beef mix and mix them well.
  • Then placed the beef mix pan on heat for cooking.
  • cover with a lid and cook them well.
  • Remove the lid and check whether the beef is well cooked or not.
  • Once the beef is well cooked, remove it from the heat and set it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan,Add fennel seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add chopped coconut pieces and saute them well.
  • Then add chopped shallots and onions.
  • Add chopped ginger, garlic and salt and sautE them well.
  • Then add cooked beef and mix them well.
  • Add some garam masala, saute and cook them well.
  • saute until the meat is light brown and black and has dried out completely.
  • Remove from the fire and set aside.
  • Serve the tasty beef roast with meals.
