Ingredients
- Indian mackerel – 4 nos
- Garlic – 10 to 15 nos
- Ginger – 2 pieces
- Tomatoes – 2 nos
- Green chilies – 6 nos
- Curry leaves
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 2 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Tamarind water – 1 large bowl
Method
- Today we’re going to make kerala style fish curry / ayala curry
- For that first clean the fish and keep aside
- Then peel garlic and ginger and wash it and keep aside
- Now wash tomatoes and green chilies and keep it aside
- Then chop the ginger
- Then slice tomatoes and keep aside
- Then slice green chilies and keep it aside
- Now make ginger garlic paste in a grinding stone and keep it aside
- Then heat oil in a pan
- Then add the ginger garlic paste and saute
- Along with ginger garlic paste add fenugreek seeds and saute
- Then smash the sliced tomatoes with hands and add it
- Then saute it well and add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt
- Then add tamarind water to it and mix thoroughly
- Close the pan and cook for few minutes
- Then open the pan and add the fish in to it
- Then add sliced green chilies and curry leaves and mix it slowly
- Then close the pan again and let it cook for few more minutes
- Now open the lid and check whether the fish is cooked and add some curry leaves and a teaspoon of oil
- Now remove the pan from fire
- Kerala style fish curry / Ayala curry is ready to serve
