Kerala style tasty fish curry recipe

Ingredients

  • Vatta fish – 2 nos
  • Grated coconut- 100g
  • Shallots – 50g
  • Tomatoes- 2 nos
  • Ginger- 1 nos
  • Green chilli – 4 nos
  • Garlic- 10 to 12 nos
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander powder- 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder- 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Tamarind- 3 nos
  • Salt
  • Dried red chilli-2 to 3 nos

Method

  • Mix the grated coconut with 2 -3 cups pf water and squeeze out the coconut milk from it and keep it aside
  • Then peel shallots and wash it , set it aside
  • Peel ginger and garlic and wash it and keep it aside
  • Then wash tomatoes
  • Now cut shallots , garlic and ginger in to small pieces
  • Then slice the tomatoes and cut green chillies and set it aside
  • Now add coriander powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder to a bowl and mix it by adding some water, make a thick paste and keep it aside
  • Now take fish in a pan and add chopped shallots, ginger , garlic and curry leaves
  • Then add some tamarind and the paste we made with coriander chilli and turmeric powder
  • Then add the coconut milk water in to it and add salt
  • Now mix it well by adding a bit of water
  • Then transfer it to stove
  • Close the pan and cook
  • Now open the pan and add the tomatoes and green chilies in to it and mix it without any spoon by shaking the pan and boil it for some more time
  • Then remove from fire
  • Now heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek , dried red chilli and shallots to it and saute it
  • Then add curry leaves and saute
  • Then add it to the fish curry
  • Kerala style tasty fish curry is ready
  • Serve the tasty fish curry
